I just got my new computer, and I can't find the plug for the monitor cord on the back?

I have the blue monitor connector, but there isn't a plug for it on the back of my computer? Do I need a different cord or something? Dell didn't give me one...

Okay this is what I did. I discovered a white plug thing that connects to the DVI plug and has the VGA plug on the other side (a converter i guess). So I plugged that all together. Hopefully the monitor works correctly. I wonder why Dell didn't just give me a DVI cord.

You can not use the blue cord with your computer. The blue one is for VGA ONLY - the plugins for video on the back of your computer accept DVI connectors ONLY. If you got the monitor with the computer - look for a monitor cord that has WHITE ends. Now - your monitor MUST have a DVI connection as well - if not you can get converter connectors (defeats the purpose of DVI) or get a DVI supported monitor.
